As the number of women in the oilfield increases, a change in perception of what women are capable of is to be expected. And Crystal Jones, a pumper at Jones Contracting, is paving the way.

Crystal was introduced to the industry by her mom and dad, who run the family business, Jones Contracting. She said being in a male-dominated work environment doesn’t intimidate her, and if anything, she’s showing other women that anyone is capable of doing the job.

According to Crystal, when it comes to women in the oilfield, “We can do the job just as good as the men can.”

EnergyHQ is powered by the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board – OERB – which is voluntarily funded by the state's oil and natural gas producers and royalty owners. The OERB provides free environmental restoration of abandoned well sites and works to educate the state's citizens about the oil and natural gas industry.
