The last week of November, the U.S. became a net oil exporter, breaking almost 75 years of dependence on foreign oil. This shift is the result of an unprecedented increase in American oil production. Oklahomans can take great pride in being a part of this milestone in U.S. history, as the fourth-largest producer of crude oil in America. The energy produced in our state is directly impacting global markets and driving positive change.

Thanks to the hard-working folks in the oil and natural gas industry, we have reached energy independence.

EnergyHQ is powered by the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board – OERB – which is voluntarily funded by the state's oil and natural gas producers and royalty owners. The OERB provides free environmental restoration of abandoned well sites and works to educate the state's citizens about the oil and natural gas industry.
