Calculators, beakers, scales, stopwatches, maps, stickers and rocks line the shelves of an 8,000-square-foot warehouse in Enid, Okla. All ready to be packaged and shipped to workshops across the state – providing teachers with resources and STEM-focused lessons to help educate our state’s bright young minds.
With over 300 individual items in the warehouse, it takes a small army to organize and carefully pack each kit, along with two large trailers to transport the boxes to their final destination: Oklahoma teachers.
The OERB hosts workshops for 1,500 K-12 teachers each year and provides them with free STEM-based curricula to supplement their lesson plans. Each teacher who attends an OERB workshop receives a FREE curricula kit filled with materials needed to teach each lesson, and that can also be utilized in other areas of the classroom. Each kit varies by grade level and subject, and is valued from $300 to $1,100.
With these tools, our teachers can provide vital STEM-based learning so today’s students can become tomorrow’s leaders in science, technology, engineering and math.
